Rehearsal Dinner

I was a little unsure of what to wear to the rehearsal dinner for my brother's wedding last weekend.  I knew the wedding itself was going to be pretty casual, so I didn't want to dress up too much for the dinner.  I found this maxi at Forever 21 last week and knew it would be perfect for the occasion.

Dress - F21/ Bag - Michael Kors (similar here) / Shoes - ShoeMint

I took these pictures in front of the rest of the wedding party without providing explanation.  You know, just weirding out my peers, an average Friday night.

Happy Birthday dear bloggy!!

Today is the one year blogoversary of this little bloggy!  I cannot believe it has been a whole year.  When I started Kristina does the Internets, I wasn't sure it would live past three posts (which was about how long my previous blog lasted).  It's been great meeting and connecting with all of you lovely people and seeing the opportunities blogging has brought.  Here's to another year!

Matchy Matchy

Sometimes it's fun to go a little matchy matchy.  This skirt and necklace were practically begging to be worn together.  And who am I to argue with that?

Shirt and Skirt - Loft / Shoes - NY&Co (old) / Necklace - Francesca's (old) / Bracelet - Michael Kors

Whenever I take pictures from this particular angle it's because it's currently raining and I'm trying to protect my camera.  It looks bright here but there was another thunderstorm rolling in.  The weather has not been giving us a break!

This week I started another class through the Art Institute of Chicago.  It's a couple nights a week so I maaaay have to cut down on posting for the next couple of weeks.  I'm also considering brushing up on my French for our trip to Morocco in September.  The boyfriend is using Rosetta Stone to remember some Spanish, but I'm not sure I would use it enough to get any use out of it.  Have you ever used Rosetta Stone?  Did you think it worked?

Wedding Weekend Recap

My brother's wedding this past weekend was absolutely beautiful.  I wish I had taken more pictures of the decorations from the wedding because it was all really pretty, seemed like every detail could have been straight out of Pinterest.  They had a fairly trendy barn wedding in the country near Madison, Wisconsin, which I think is funny because they aren't the type to really care about trends.  They decided they wanted to get married in a barn, and then were super surprised when all of the barns for miles around were booked for weddings.

At the rehearsal dinner

"Getting ready" with my sister.  We were in charge of doing hair and makeup for the ladies.  My sister thinks we should go into business ;)

With the lovely bride.  Even though we were getting ready with the ladies, my sister and I were technically the groom's attendants.  I'm glad we were in the lady room though, because we got to sip on champagne while the men did shots of whiskey.

Our own photo session between the professional photos around the barn.  You know, just posing with an old windmill, totally normal.

Sisterface pre-wedding.

Waiting around before the wedding - you can see some of the bottles covered in twine that we were working on for months.

I think this was during their vows.  I had the boyfriend take some pictures during the ceremony and he did a great job capturing everything.  See the huppah behind them?  My dad made that!  I told him he needs to start an Etsy store.

The most normal photo boyfriend and I managed to take all night.  You know, the ush.

I hope you had a great weekend!

Friday Wants/Needs

Happy Friday!! This morning I'm heading up to Wisconsin, hopefully catching lunch with my former roommate*, and then hitting the rehearsal dinner for my brother's wedding and hopefully getting my best man speech under my belt.

In the meantime, here are some of the things I've been lusting after recently.  Are they wants or needs?  Probably the former, but a girl can dream, right?!

1. Leopard Clutch - Every time I see this pop up I go to the website and stare at it until I decide I don't really need another clutch.  But really, I could probably use another clutch.
2. Golden Giraffe - Because really, I would probably decorate every nook and cranny of my house with metallic animals.  Last weekend I went out for groceries and came home with a silver rhino.
3. Floral Pillow - I saw this up on The Glossy Life in her adorable living room and have been drooling over it ever since.  I asked the boyfriend if we could get some for the living room, and he said "but they wouldn't match anything," which is really his nice way of saying "no."  I'll probably buy one anyway ;)
4. Crystal Necklace: I've never owned a crystal necklace.  What's wrong with me?!

Have a great weekend!

*To Clair Dandelion - I know you're reading this.  I know you're jealous.  Sorry girl!

P.S. I'm being featured on Simple Easy Style today, check it out!

Striped Maxi

I wore this last week when the Blackhawks had a parade through downtown Chicago.  No, I didn't go watch the parade (the crowds were crazy!) but I did get a good view of it from my office.  I don't own a hawks shirt, or, oddly enough, any red clothing, so I thought black and white stripes were in order.

Dress - Bebe (old, similar here) / Sandals - Target / Belt - H&M / Necklace - Baublebar

Today marks the start of activities for my brother's wedding - the ladies in the wedding party are getting mani/pedis at a cute place downtown that also happens to have a full bar.  I say "ladies in the wedding party" because I'm not actually a bridesmaid, my sister and I are the groom's attendants!  Which really means we should get on the whole "writing a best man speech" thing (just kidding Claire, I swear we're on top of it ;)

Have a great holiday tomorrow,  I hope your day includes lots of barbecue and hopefully a few fireworks!
