Weekend Snapshots

I wanted to come up with an April Fool's for you, but that seems to be something I'm terrible at.  Last year we were flying out of Vegas early on April first, and I did manage to convince a friend that I had gotten married the night before.  Besides that I don't think I've ever succeeded in fooling anyone.  So instead of trying to fool you, just be warned not to believe everything you hear today!

I ended up having a great (semi) long weekend - I took Friday afternoon off to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo with my family, checked out The Publican (and discovered I now like oysters!), did a lot of walking in the beautiful weather we had, and to compensate for all of the walking, ate a lot of desserts.

My mom and sister pretending to be giraffes, learning which meerkats were dominant, and and adorable baby gorilla. Based on the timeline we're pretty sure we saw it being conceived the last time we were at the zoo.
My sister and I are now both redheads - confusing?  And my sister doing what she says is a "Kristina pose," but I recognize as her really pretending to be Gavroche from Les Mis.  She's most likely winking behind her sunglasses.  Yeah, it's an odd inside joke.
Going for a walk down by Museum Campus with the boy, and eating lots of treats.

Here's hoping you have a wonderful week!

The End of the World as We Know It

There has been a lot of amusing stuff floating around about the world ending today.  The most hilarious thing I heard was my 22 year old sister when she realized the exact date - "You mean we don't get another Christmas?!"

If today really was your last day on Earth, what would you do?  I'm going to the zoo tonight with the boy to see the Zoo Lights, so I guess I would choose to hang out with the beavers (my favorite animal at the zoo, no joke).

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, sans apocalypse!
