Pattern Play

Dress and Necklace (similar) - JCrew Factory / Bag and Heels (similar) - Sole Society

Oh hey! It's an exciting week - yesterday my brother and his wife flew in from South Korea so we had a little welcome home dinner, as of today I'm officially on vacation through the 4th of July, and tonight we're having a 90th birthday party downtown for my grandma. I'm hoping the weather plays along so we can celebrate out along the river front and so I can wear this fun printed dress.

I mentioned in the last budget post that it's not the most flattering shape on me (hellooooo, potato sack!) but I love the print so much that I don't really care. For curvy girls, if you want to go with oversized clothing like this you should always try to size down - I usually wear a 10 or 12 at JCrew Factory and the 10 was a much better fit. While this dress is so fun dressed up, I also plan on wearing it dressed down with flat sandals and a jean jacket all summer long.

  7. Sometimes things are just so cute it doesn't even matter if they're flattering....I'm with you there! I definitely have bought "potato sack" shirts before!

  9. Yay for being on vacation! I hope you enjoy every last minute of your time off. Most flattering shape or not, this dress looks adorable on you. Sizing down is such a smart idea, I have trouble with loose dresses like these due to my top half so I'm going to have to take your advice the next time I find myself smitten with one.

  10. Yeah, I love the print on that dress! I think it was smart to add those casual heels...gives you a little height. I like the dress, I don't think it looks like a potato sack :)
