Necklace Storage

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm really looking forward to this weekend, with the exception of having to clean up my old apartment before giving the keys back.  I'm loving the new place so far (despite getting locked out sans coat the third day there!) and am starting to settle in.  I haven't quite figured out what to do with my exploding necklace collection yet.  I used to have them on pretty hooks on my wall, but my vanity is now in front of a row of windows.  I'm trying to decide if something like this will work in my closet:

Or if I should try to get my hands on some sort of jewelry organizer...

Or if I should try to DIY something...Decisions decisions!  Anyone have any necklace advice?  I seem to have quite a few.

I hope your weekend involves more exciting things than cleaning and organizing!

  1. The wall thing is a good idea, but I wouldn't want to ruin my wall with all those holes (but that's just me!). I love the ideas of using a frame or something like the last few you showed!

  2. I so need advice on what to do with my jewelry. It is just all thrown in one drawer and I can't figure out where I want to store it. I like that last picture. It is pretty and functional. Maybe I will try something like that...

  4. I have a jewelry organizer/dresser, like the one in the 2nd picture. It was the best thing I ever bought. It keeps my jewelry organized and also keeps them from getting dusty.

  5. I love the first way picture above- it's so cool to have them all on display like that. Actually, my weekend involves a lot of cleaning and organizing- we're planning to paint our apartment and early spring clean this weekend!

  6. I love the version where it's hung in a frame. Most time, jewelry is so pretty that it's a waste to keep it hidden. I have a few pieces on trays in my room, and others hanging on a necklace tree!

  7. I really like the framed hanger. Mine are in pretty trays and a jewelry tree, but I'm looking to make something similar for my remaining ones.

  9. Lauren already commented, but you should check out her jewelry storage post she did a few days ago: http://www.fizzandfrosting.com/2013/02/pretty-jewelry-organization/. She did an amazing job! All my necklaces are really long so I got a neat wall organizer from Urban Outfitters that stores both necklaces and earrings. I can fit a ton on there, and it doesnt take up too much wall space.

  10. I love the idea of displaying them inside a picture frame like the photo above. My necklaces hang on hooks on the inside of my closet door.

Oh my! You own quite the collection. But at least you can easily see it how you have it set up. Must make it very easy to pick out jewelry for the day :)

  15. I'm worried about that too, but I guess I rent so technically it would be someone else's problem ;)

  16. I love how they are hanging in the frame - such a cute idea! And I think whatever you decide - it's important to be able to see what you have :)
