Suede Jacket for Spring

Jacket (exact here in a couple of sizes, or a super similar jacket, and another) - Kut from the Kloth / Tank and Earrings (similar here and here) - LOFT / Jeans (these are my fav - not see through and they don't stretch out!) - Gap / Flats (similar here) - Banana Republic / Bag (similar here and here) - Kate Spade / Necklace - Stella & Dot

Last week, as I complained yet again about the lack of spring weather, I said to myself, "Kristina, get a grip."

I mean, I live in Chicago. Cold springs are kind of our thing.

Until I looked back at some of my posts from last spring! I was going through them to repin some content to Pinterest, and I really was just wearing little outfits like this, and not topping them with a full winter coat. Really, when we took these photos, Jeff had the furry hood of my favorite gray wool coat over his head to keep it from getting dirty. Just know, that if I ever look cold in a photo (ahem - like here - get those shoulders down girl!) that Jeff is likely wearing my coat behind the lens. He loves it, definitely not embarrassing for him at all ;)

Well anyway, to try to make it through this chilly spring weather, I've been doing the double coat - with my winter coat on top, and this little suede jacket underneath! This jacket is so soft and comfortable to wear - it's kind of like wearing a cardigan! I originally bought it for fall, but the pretty taupe/gray color works really well with spring colors too.

My Saturday Dress

Dress - LOFT / Jacket (available in 5 colors!) - KUT from the Kloth / Booties (similar) and Bag (similar) - Sole Society / Earrings - BaubleBar / Bracelet - Michael Kors

I was joking with Jeff that this is my Saturday dress, because I'm pretty sure I've worn it every Saturday for the past five weekends straight. Which, really, is proof to its versatility. I've worn it with a denim jacket, with this suede jacket, with OTK boots, with booties, and with sandals. It's worked in 50 degree weather and 90 degree weather. Because that's how fall in Chicago works. Oh, and I wore it to my cousin's wedding. This is, without a doubt, the best purchase I've made in a long time. Oh, and now it's on super sale - it's currently less than thirty bucks!! What?! It is a final sale item, which normally I would steer you away from, but in this case I'm thinking the flowy fit means it will work on you no matter what - just make sure to size down! I'm in a medium here, and normally go for larges in dresses at LOFT.

So now that I have my Saturday uniform set, looks like I just have six more days to plan for ;)

Faux Suede Jacket to Transition to Fall

Jacket - KUT from the Kloth / Tee (similar here and here) - Halogen / Shorts - J. Crew Factory / Sandals - Target / Bag - Sole Society / Earrings - BaubleBar

So, I've been just starting to get into a fall mood. I'm still not willing to pull out all the stops, but I have found myself slowly wearing less color (and definitely fewer hot pink statement earrings). I think that's what happens every year - I slowly start to go monochrome / neutral but don't drop the white. Because really, who is ready to drop the white just because of an arbitrary holiday weekend?!

What I'm most excited to start to wear now that temperatures have fallen a little is this faux suede jacket! I picked it up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and it was definitely my best purchase. I'm seriously going to wear this thing to death. It's amazingly soft, the drape is great, and while it is definitely a jacket it can feel more like styling a cardigan - perfect for transitioning into fall and impossibly chilly offices. Even not on sale, it's only $88 and now comes in a couple more colors now like blue and olive

How has your week back from the long weekend been? Usually those shorter weeks are rough because I'm trying to squeeze in the same amount of work into four days instead of five, but this one hasn't been so bad. Jeff and I have just spent our evenings catching up on work (for him) and blog stuff (for me) instead of going out, but really, that's the norm for us. We have Cubs tickets for Friday night so we'll get a little fun time in then.

This four day week is especially sweet for me because my next TWO work weeks are four days too!! We're finally heading out to Colorado for my cousin's wedding, which I think I've been talking about for freaking forever. I don't know about you, but my family knows how to throw a good party - our family weddings are always so fun!! We're staying at Chatauqua for the weekend in little individual cabins, and from what I hear it's supposed to be absolutely beautiful.

Right now I'm a little nervous because the last time I was in Colorado I was fourteen and I had the worst altitude sickness the first day. Honestly, I was fourteen and I'm pretty sure I threw a temper tantrum because I felt so terrible. Of course, we were in Breckinridge for that trip, and are going to Boulder this time, so I'm hoping this trip won't be so bad. Tell me it's going to be okay, please.

Have you been to Boulder recently? Anything we should add to our must see list?
