What I really look like in winter...

What I think I look like in winter:

Coat - 1 Madison (old, similar) / Hat - Gap (old) / Sweater - Banana Republic (old) / Skirt - Loft / Booties - Kelly & Katie (old) / Necklace - JCrew Factory

What I really look like in winter:

Boots - Nine West / Scarf - JCrew Factory

I have not been able to handle all of these zero and negative degree days.  Sooooo I'm covering up every inch of skin possible when I leave the house in the morning.  The people I ride the bus with probably think I'm a crazy person, but hey, at least I'm warm.

The twelve or so inches of snow we've gotten this week helped me determine that my snowboots have a leak, so I'm on the market for a new pair.  Are Hunters plus the welly socks good for snow, or should I go for real snow boots, like Sorel?

Do you still try to look cute when it's really cold outside, or do you bundle up like me?

P.S. You can also saw  how I wore this giraffe sweater in much nicer weather here.

  1. Kudos for keeping it real! I bundle up, even if we don't have zero temperatures.

  3. I think you look cute! That is totally what I look like when going out, and I can't even compare to the temps you've been having! I got these Khombu boots: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/khombu-arctic-2-winter-pac-boots-weatherproof-lace-ups-for-women~p~4806j/ and love them, they've managed to keep my arthritic dancer ankles warm - so I'm happy!

  4. Bundled up is the way to go! I don't really care if people think I'm cute until I'm inside and warm somewhere!

  9. I look like the 2nd version of you, too. I still wear clothes I love, but noone would have any idea because they're hidden under my gigantic coat.

  18. Well the tights are fleece lined, so it's almost the same as wearing jeans. I'm a super wimp when it comes to cold so if they weren't lined I would never wear skirts.
