Weekend Style

Vest - Patagonia / Flannel Shirt and Tee - J.Crew Factory / Maternity Leggings (or my favorite non-maternity) - Blanqi / Sneakers - New Balance / Hat - J.Crew / Bag (similar here and here) - Coach Factory / Necklace - Stella & Dot

Continuing with the series of "Kristina wears things on top of tee shirts and leggings," we now have the addition of a flannel and vest! The whole not buying maternity clothes thing is starting to get a little harder, but I still have so many pieces to mix and match in my closet that I haven't had too hard of a time getting dressed yet.

This combo has been my go-to for the weekends lately (you know, as long as it's not raining or snowing or with a windchill below freezing) since it looks put together but is still comfy and casual.  I'm really glad I snagged this white and green flannel a few months ago because it worked so well for fall, but now the green feels festive and ready for the holidays. Oh and this vest? It actually was a freebie from my company, there's a little logo on the back! I initially was like, "why would they give me this vest, I'm never ever ever going to wear it, blah blah blah," (essentially being a brat for getting a nice present - great look Kristina) but now that my other vests are all feeling a little small I've actually been wearing this one a lot! It's such a nice extra layer for wearing out and about or layering under a coat on colder days. So thanks work for the gift!!

I also have to throw a shout out to this hat - it's the one I own in four colors now and is my absolute favorite! How fun is the little pom pom? Plus I love that it's warm and fully covers my ears - a must for windy winter days in Chicago. I also have it in green, red, and pink, and while those are all fun sometimes you just need some basic black!!

What are you guys up to this week? We're currently trying to whip our house into shape because we're hosting a little Christmas party over the weekend. I'm also babysitting Jeff's baby sister alone tonight for the first time - wish me luck!!

Winter Cozies

Pullover - J. Crew / Tee (similar) - Bobeau / Jeans (super similar here) - Madewell / Sneakers - New Balance / Bag (similar here, here, and here) - Sole Society / Necklace - Stella & Dot

I grabbed the camera when we were walking out the door while wearing this outfit, and Jeff said, "Wait, we're shooting that?"

Umm, yes Jeffrey, because athleisure is the best thing ever. I mean, basically the twenty-teen's gift to womankind. What are we calling this decade again?

I've been working from home a little more lately, and have basically been rotating between my favorite pullovers - the one I have here, the incredibly popular one from Abercrombie, my quilted sweatshirt from L.L.Bean (the exact one I have is sold out but this one is similar), and of course my better sweater. Which one is the best? I could never decide.

But this particular fleece is pink, so I basically wore it all weekend ;)

The pink is sadly sold out, but the fleece is still available in white. It's amazingly warm - like, my upper body wasn't cold at all while we were taking these pictures despite the wind. It is definitely cropped though, which I still like just because it's different from my other pullovers, but if you have a long torso it may not work for you.

I also got these sneakers in the mail over the weekend. I initially thought they were too big, but duh, I wasn't wearing socks. With socks they fit great ;) I actually ended up showing them to everyone I talked to on this particular day because they're made out of a super stretchy material unlike any other sneaker I've owned before, and they don't have a tongue - super easy for slipping on and off and super comfy! I'm thinking these are going to make the cut for our trip to Charleston over the weekend, because the navy is so cute it'll pair well with all of my spring clothes. Eek I'm so excited, let me know if you have any Charleston recommendations!

Refueling Post-Workout with Odwalla

Disclosure: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and the Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone. #NourishOnTheGo #CollectiveBias

I don't know why it still comes as a surprise to me, but after a workout I'm always starving! Inevitably I've forgotten to bring a snack and it's been a long time since lunch, and I end up roaming the streets on my way home searching for something to eat. I've been going to Pure Barre for the last six months or so, and since my friend is an instructor I travel a couple of miles to go to her location. Let me tell you, if I try to get on the el without grabbing something first I get hangry!!

To refuel after a workout, I've been ducking into a grocery store on the way home to pick up something easy that will help me stay on track after a workout. I love snagging these juices and smoothies by Odwalla - they're a great way to sneak in some easy, great-tasting nutrition. I've been drinking these for years because I'm lazy and don't want to take the time to make myself something healthy, but know I still need to get all of those servings of fruit and vegetables in. I love that Odwalla smoothies are 100% juice, non GMO verified, and have no added sugar.

I also just tried the almond milk smoothie for the first time, and you guys, I might be addicted now. I mean, it's basically chocolate milk but made with almonds - yes please! Jeff tried it too and then had to finish off the bottle.

Right now Odwalla is running a promotion with Jewel and other grocery stores to offer $1 off in-store fresh cut fruit when you buy any two Odwalla 15.2oz juices or smoothies.* The lazy girl inside of me loves to buy fresh-cut fruit, it makes snacking (and life!) so much easier!! I found the Odwalla juices in the fresh juice area in the produce section right by the fresh-cut fruit - easy peasy! Now if you'll excuse me, I have quite a few strawberries to take down.

*Save $1 on your next purchase of in-store fresh cut fruit when you buy any TWO (2) Odwalla 15.2 fl. oz. (You'll receive a print out coupon at the register.). Offer ends 10/31/2017.

Hiking in the Flatirons

Top (similar) - Old Navy / Jacket - J. Crew Factory / Leggings (exact are sold out, I also love this pair with a mesh bottomthis pink color-blocked pair, and this moto-inspired pair) - Zella / Hat (currently on sale!) - Urban Outfitters / Sneakers (similar) - Nike / Earrings (similar) - Charming Charlie

Isn't that background stunning?! We took these photos in Boulder last week when we went out to hike in the Flatirons, which are right next to town. They're kind of crazy looking, these giant rocks jutting out of the mountainside. We went up into the hills three times over the weekend, and I somehow managed to forget how beautiful the views were and was taken aback every time.

I honestly thought I was going to hate hiking, but really I loved it. I'm not ready to go on a six hour summit climb or anything, but a walk through nature? Just my style. As long as it's mostly flat ;)

What's also just my style are these leggings - how fun are they?! I've long been a fan of Zella leggings, but they've really stepped up their game lately. This exact pair is sold out, but I'm seriously loving this pair with a mesh bottom, this pink color-blocked pair, and this moto-inspired pair. They're fun to wear for working out (or, ahem "hiking" in this case) but are so cute they're fun to wear around town too - three cheers for athleisure! My cousin said they were "leggings of the future" and my grandma didn't say anything but snapped the fabric on my leg, so I think she liked them too.

More Zella Leggings

What the trip really showed me though is that I need to work on my sneaker game! I currently own two pairs and one gives me blisters on my little toes if I sweat too much. The pair I'm wearing here is fun because they're hot pink, but also they're hot pink so they really don't work with most outfits. I came home and immediately ordered two new pairs of sneakers that I'm still waiting to get in the mail. I can wear sneakers to work, so I may turn into an all sneakers, all the time kind of girl.
