Another Way to Wear - Black Bodycon Dress

Maternity Dress (love this casual dress or this dressier option if you aren't pregnant!) - Amazon / Wrap (similar here and here) - Sole Society / Maternity Fleece-Lined Tights - Loft / Booties - TOMS / Bag - Tory Burch / Velvet Hair Bow (similar here and here) - J.Crew / Charm Bracelet - Jet Set Candy / Necklace - Stella & Dot

I bought this dress on the cheap for my baby shower at the beginning of December (here's how I wore it then) figuring I'd only wear it one time, but I ended up getting a ton of use out of it over the past month! It's the perfect base layer for adding whatever else you want on top of it - a scarf, a poncho, a cardigan, a vest, or a flannel button down. Plus it really shows off that baby bump! These pictures are from before Christmas - the bump is somehow a lot bigger now!

This plaid wrap is a tiny bit Christmas-y (okay, maybe a lot with the red and green!) but it's actually pretty easy to wear post-Christmas too since it's just a touch of red. If you're looking to wear your holiday pieces into the winter, just try to tone down the Christmas a little by not pairing with other red and green items - I'm most likely to wear this with all black come January. This exact poncho is a couple years old now, and I have a huge collection of similar wraps in my closet. They're so versatile and so cozy to wear in the winter - it's a socially acceptable way to wear a blanket! Here are a few of my favorites that are currently in stock:

This week has been pretty quiet for me so far, things always slow way down over here in January both work-wise and social-wise. I haven't had any doctor's appointments this week (it's starting to feel like I live there - I'm 33 weeks!!) and I had to remotely attend my work team's offsite since I'm not allowed to fly, which meant staying on the computer true California hours (read: until 7 or 8pm Chicago time) the past couple of days. I'm actually fine with the slower days though because I've definitely noticed my energy levels dropping again - over the weekend I was in bed by nine each night! Getting in all that sleep before baby comes I guess - or at least trying to make up for the sleep I miss by repeatedly getting up to go to the bathroom or turning over to try to get comfortable! We do have a few fun things planned for this weekend though, including a Blackhawks game. Cross your fingers I'm able to keep my eyes open the whole time!

The Best Fall Scarf

Sweater - LOFT / Scarf and Tee - J.Crew Factory / Maternity Leggings - Blanqi / Bag (similar here and here) - Sezane / Flats - Sam Edelman / Necklace - Stella & Dot

I am slightly embarrassed to admit (even though I already did on Instagram) that I now own this scarf in SIX different patterns. I mean, come on Kristina, who are you?!

Really though, these scarves are my favorite. I love that they work well over a sweater or a tee to add a little visual interest, but are also warm enough to wear as a functional scarf with a wool coat or puffer in the winter. Plus, the patterns are so cute! I mean, how perfect is the burnt red color in this one for fall? I freaking love it paired with camel, so pretty!!

According to the old calendar, we should have flown back to Chicago from Hawaii at the crack of dawn yesterday morning, so this post is pre-scheduled. But, fingers crossed I'm not too exhausted and jet-lagged, and can get my booty in gear to get some more content ready for this week before all of the Thanksgiving craziness sets in!

Fall Off the Shoulder Sweater

Sweater and Scarf - J.Crew Factory / Leggings (or these are my fav non-maternity leggings) - BLANQI / Booties - TOMS Necklace - Stella & Dot Bag - Tory Burch

These sweaters were my favorite last year (exhibits a, b, c, and d), and I was so excited to see them back in stock in more colors for this fall! I love the oversized fit, and the chunkier knit pattern is cozy and great for hiding flaws. Plus, the tunic length means I'll be able to wear it for a while longer during this pregnancy.

And, before you ask, no, this isn't meant to be an off the shoulder sweater. It just stretches a little when you wear it, and for me that always means coming off one of the shoulders. I think it's cute so I go with it!

This scarf was also a repurchase from last year - I loved the colors I got last year so of course I had to snag this one too! J.Crew Factory has the best scarves, snap them up now before they go out of stock! Here are the ones I own:

How darling is this street I'm walking down? Jeff's dad and his wife moved to the Gold Coast over the summer, just off the Viagra Triangle (if you aren't from Chicago, ha, yes, that is a real place - named so because it's where the rich old men live!). Every time we go now I try to remember to take pictures, because the whole neighborhood is so stinking cute. We went two weeks ago for brunch and everyone's fall front porch game was strong. I keep asking Jeff when we can move there, and he says when we move the lottery - insert eye roll hahaha.

Plaid Poncho Scarf

Dress - Abercrombie / Plaid Wrap - BP / Bag (similar here, here, and here) - Coach Factory / Booties - TOMS / Necklace - Stella & Dot

Whew this week has been crazy so far, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I snagged this plaid wrap/poncho back during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it immediately sold out, but it looks like it's back!! I love pieces like this because they let you easily mix up your wardrobe - it's great over tanks, long sleeves, sweaters, and dresses, and is a great way to add a layer without dying of heat stroke if it isn't quite fall weather in your neck of the woods yet. Of course, it's supposed to be about 50 degrees in Chicago today, so layers away!

A Little Plaid

Dress (wearing a regular large, not the tall size) - Old Navy / Flannel (similar here and here) - J.Crew Factory / Bag (similar here, here, and here) - Coach Factory / Booties - TOMS / Necklace - Stella & Dot / Sunglasses - LOFT

I'm ready for fall now. But Chicago doesn't seem to be quite cooperating - it was almost 90 yesterday!

What's a girl to do? Tie a flannel shirt around her waist of course and call it a day.

I may have done it twice this weekend with the same flannel. It's fun with a tee and shorts too, but I love it paired with this comfy tee shirt dress (which I previously wore here and basically wear every chance I get). It's amazing because it's such a blank slate (and basically like wearing a nightgown). Add a sweater, add a scarf, add a jacket, or add a wrap and it becomes a completely different look. I bought the same dress in black too but haven't worn that one nearly as much - I'm guessing it'll get more wear though as things cool down and we get a little further into the season.

Oh, and if you're trying to hide a baby bump, let me tell you, tying a shirt around your waist is the perfect method. My bump is sitting pretty right under that tie and no one is the wiser. Until they see me eat, I swear I had three lunches yesterday ;)

Not to completely change gears or anything, but you like my haircut? I went in for a cut and a deep conditioning treatment over the weekend, and I was laughing because I literally couldn't remember the last time I had been in. Ummm, it was MARCH!!!!!!! How on earth did that happen?!? So I was avoiding visiting her because I didn't want to dye my hair during the first trimester, so my roots were a mess and I was feeling blah and just wearing my hair up every day. But I didn't realize I had done six months of avoidance!! I got my "usual" lob cut and she cut off five inches. I'm so glad to be back to this short length though, someone needs to remind me that my hair just looks so much healthier when it's short, plus it's so easy to style. Keep me in check, people!
