Day to Night

I haven't done a Day to Night post in a while, but I thought, when is a better time than on a trip?  I tried to pack light on this trip (tried being the key word), so a lot of my clothes had to do double duty.  I chose to bring mostly black and white pieces for the trip so that I would be able to mix and match easily, and add in a little flare with accessories.

Dress - Loft (old)

Necklace - Francesca's (old) / Bag - Kate Spade / Watch - Michael Kors / Sandals - Target (similar)

Earrings - JCrew Factory (similar) / Bag - Jessie Blume / Bracelet - Baublebar (similar) / Sandals - Sole Society

Guest Post: Tea and Sequins

Hello from Sevilla!!  Today the agenda includes a flamenco show and lots of tapas, so basically the perfect day.  Today I have a guest post for you from Kaitlin at Tea and Sequins.  I love Katilin's bright and fun style, so much so that we own several of the same pieces ;)  Take it away, Kaitlin!

Hi everyone! I'm Kaitlin, and I blog over at Tea and Sequins. I'm so excited to be guest posting here at Kristina Does The Internets while she's on her amazing European getaway. Kristina is a fellow Chicago girl so I love seeing how she handles the challenges of city life dressing and our constantly changing weather.

I originally started my blog as an escape from the daily grind of grad school. I just finished up my degree in occupational therapy, and, while I love it, I needed a creative escape. I'd stumbled upon a few blogs while on Pinterest and thought "Hey, I think I can do that." I loved how there were so many "normal" girls wearing totally relatable style on a realistic budget! Cut to a year later and I truly love this little hobby. I've met some awesome people (like Kristina!) while expanding my style and wardrobe.

I also wanted to start a blog in order to show other girls that they don't need an "ideal" body to look great. I somehow ended up with tons of friends who are 5'2 and 110lbs. Needless to say, we don't share many clothes. It's taken a long time (and, admittedly, it's always a work in progress), but I'm finally comfortable working with what I've got and dressing it to my best ability. Whether you're really tall, curvy, flat-chested, etc- there's something out there that works! Maybe you can get some inspiration from my blog, or one of the hundreds of others filled with girls of all body types!

My newest venture is developing a budget. Oy. You can read all about that here. Being a twentysomething (or, really, anysomething) can be tricky. It's been really helpful to get financial tips from fellow shopping-lovers on how they make it work. I love having this little corner of the internet where I can be myself, meet great people, and get some guidance!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hopefully, you have a second to check out my blog over at Tea and Sequins. I love meeting new bloggers so leave a comment below and tell me where I can find you!

What I'm Wearing: Spain

Today is our last day in Barcelona before we head off to Sevilla tomorrow.  I kept hearing over and over that in Spain, dressing up is the norm.  People only wear shorts when they're working out, rarely wear jeans, and make sure they look good in public.  I didn't want to be a really obvious tourist, so my outfits for our jaunt in Spain are a little dressier than I would normally go on vacation, but still light, easy, and comfortable for the heat.  I love this particular tank/skirt combo because it can be easily dressed down for a day of walking around, or dressed up for the dinner & flamenco show we're hitting up tomorrow night.

Top - NY&Co (old, similar) / Skirt - Loft (old, similar) / Sandals - Payless (old, similar) / Watch - Michael Kors / Sunglasses - Target (similar)

Whenever I buy skirts from Loft, I actually go a size down so they sit at my natural waist instead of on my hips.  It's a much more flattering look for my body type.

I hope you're having a great day!

Guest Post: With Luck

Hello everyone from Barcelona!  Today I've got a guest post for you from Jenn at With Luck Blog.  Jenn blogs about everything from style to crafts to cooking to her adorable dog Allegra.  Take it away Jenn!

Hey everyone! Jenn from WLB and I'm so excited to be here on Kristina's side of the Internets while she's out exploring the world. (ps- I'm jealous about that). Anyway, I love heading over to Kristina's blog when I'm hunting for fashion inspiration so I knew when we started talking about my guest post, I knew I wanted to do something style related. And then pumpkin everything started appearing at Dunkin Donuts and it was decided that I would list out a few fall things that I am most excited about.
fall layers1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Layers

I'm most excited about layers. Sometimes I get easily bored dressing over the summer months. A pair of shorts, a single top, sandals.. in the hot weather I can't handle much else. I'm looking forward to piling on sweaters and dresses and thick tights and everything in between!
fall nails1 - 2 - 3
Fall Nail Neutrals
Although I've had fun with my summer brights, I'm ready to go back to neutrals. I like the fact that my nails will match everything all the time again. It's a bit more of a classy look. Summer has been fun, but I'm ready to calm it down a little.
scarves1- 2 - 3 - 4
Scarves
Scarves are my weakness. I have a bunch of them fit to wear any time of the year but fall is by far the best. You can allow your scarf a little more texture, a little more length and really let it take over your outfit, which I am totally ready for.
fall Jackets
1 - 2 - 3
Jackets
I used to hate wearing jackets when I was younger, but now I love the extra layer. I like to keep my jackets light in color over the fall and save the darks for the deep winter cold but as long as it's comfortable and cute I'll take it all!

What fall essentials are you excited to break out? Anything that I missed?
Thanks for letting me visit, Kristina! Enjoy the rest of your trip :-)
With Luck
Thanks so much Jenn!  I'm definitely getting excited for lots of layers and to break out all of my jackets again, as soon as I get back it's going to be fall all the way.  Be sure to check out Jenn's blog at www.withluckblog.com!

Weekend Wear

I wore this out over the weekend for a little shopping downtown.  Whenever I hit the Loop or Mag Mile on the weekends, I'm always surprised I don't make it there more often on a Saturday.  I think I feel like I'm downtown enough during the week for work, but I forget that I should go downtown just for fun every now and then.  Of course, I didn't actually manage to buy anything while I was out, and instead ordered things online on the bus ride home.  Umm, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Tank - F21 / Shorts and Sandals - Target / Bracelet - Baublebar / Watch - Michael Kors

This is the outfit I was wearing the other day when the boyfriend said I did a good job with matching. Not like there are many things that wouldn't match a white blouse!

St. Germain Cocktails

I posted on Monday that I picked up a bottle of St. Germain over the weekend.  If you haven't heard of it, St. Germain is an elderflower liqueur.  I'm not sure what an elderflower is, but I've realized it's in just about every cocktail I really like.  So despite the $40 (!) price tag, I decided this weekend to go for it.  You only use a little bit of it at a time, so hopefully my bottle will last a long time.  I wanted to share two of my favorite drink recipes that use St. Germain.

Sparkling Grapefruit
1 part St. Germain
2 parts grapefruit juice
Top with a dry champagne

Gin & Juice
1 part gin
1/2 part St. Germain
2 parts white grape juice
Splash of club soda

Both can be served in a rocks glass.

Have you ever had St. Germain?  What's your favorite combo with it?

P.S. Nope, this post isn't sponsored, I just really like St. Germain ;)
