A Little Leather

Shirt (similar) - LOFT / Skirt - J. Crew / Heels - Michael Kors / Bag (similar) - Coach Factory / Bracelet (similar) - BaubleBar

My very first thought when I saw this skirt was that I wanted to pair it with this oxford - you know, a little leather and a little blink. I don't know if you can tell, but I love this shirt (seen here, here, here...). It's basically your regular classic oxford, but with a little extra sparkle. If I could have a little extra sparkle on every clothing item I owned I would basically be in heaven. Maybe I should buy a bedazzler....

This week I've been traveling for work and needed to dress up a bit, and I love having this skirt in my arsenal. I always want to wear a-line shapes because they're the most flattering on my body, but they can also end up looking a little too sweet in a business setting. Put an a-line in leather though, and everyone knows not to mess with you. Especially all of the 22 year old boys I work with. Gotta keep 'em in check somehow ;)

#TBT with boohoo

Sweater, Tee, and Clutch - c/o boohoo / Denim (similar) - Old Navy / Heels - Sole Society

When boohoo asked me to create a Throwback Thursday look based on a style icon of the past, I knew I had to choose '90s it girl Winona Ryder. Before she shoplifted all of the clothes, she was known for her great street style - baggy tees and jeans, lots of leather and black, and bright lipstick. I decided to reimagine her look as a little more polished with heels and a clutch, and while I wanted to trade her baggy jeans for cuffed boyfriends, the -13 degree windchill forced me into black skinnies instead.

Who is your favorite style icon?

I received compensation for this post, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Little Faux

Tee - Loft (similar) / Skirt - Target / Heels - Sole Society / Bag - Coach Factory (similar) / Necklace (similar) and Bracelet - BaubleBar

I don't shop for clothes at Target anymore.  Yes, you read that correctly.  It's not that I don't like Target clothes.  It's just that the layout of the closest store is a little funky, and I like the rest of what Target has to offer so much that by the time I get to the clothing section my cart is so full that I don't feel like maneuvering through the clothing aisle with it.

Then some smart employee decided to hang this skirt on the outside aisle, and it literally drew me over from another section like a moth to the flame.  Between the shape and the faux leather scalloped look, I had to have it.  Target wins again.
