Scallops and Embroidery

Tank - J.Crew Factory / Skirt - Loft / Bag - c/o Wikibuy / Sandals - Treasure & Bond / Earrings (super similar here) - J.Crew

Are you looking for a cute work to drinks outfit for warmer weather? Well then this is it! Just add a denim jacket and you're set for the office. And, you know, take the jacket off when it's time for the fun to start ;)

I haven't been into the office much so far this summer between vacations and traveling for work (I'm in San Francisco right now!) so I keep repeating this outfit when I do have to get dressed for work. I got this skirt in a tall and the length is perfect for the office. I also love this tank - the straps are adjustable so you can put away your cleavage in the office. Oh and whenever I show a tank or an off the shoulder outfit someone always asks - this strapless bra is my favorite!

I love wearing a good dress in the summer, but it's so nice to have separates you can mix and match as well. With a tank this skirt is dressy enough for work, drinks, a dinner date, or even a baby/bridal shower. But paired with a white tee and a light jacket, it can be really casual instead. Well, casual according to me at least - my sister would probably still complain that I was too dressed up!

The Ultimate Day to Night - Office to Bachelorette

Oh hallooooooo, Jeff and I are still living la dolce vita in Italy, so here is another previously scheduled post. I promise we'll be back soon!

So last month, I ended up having to go straight from work to a bachelorette party. I could have changed in the bathroom at work, but it seemed kind of awkward to then have to wander through the office in a tiny outfit and heels. So instead I took a different route:

Layers! I added a maxi skirt and scarf (and then a jacket because it ended up being kind of chilly) and suddenly I could wear this pretty, low-cut romper to work and no one was the wiser. Of course, the hair and makeup may have been a bit of a giveaway ;) This is different than a lot of day to night outfits in that you couldn't see most of my outfit at the beginning, but it was just as easy of a switch as when you change out a pair of shoes or switch handbags. I obviously wouldn't always recommend layering (a layered romper in particular, it adds a fun layer to the whole romper/bathroom issue), but in this case it was the perfect solution.

Oh, and can we talk about this romper? Normally stretchy waist rompers don't work on me, nor do wrap fronts (which are supposed to be great for bigger busts, but in my case usually end up showing way too much skin) but this one somehow just works. It's great for dressy occasions, but as you can see also works dressed down with a denim jacket (just wear flat sandals instead of heels).

Day to Night

Tee and Chambray - Loft / Pants - American Eagle / Bag - Audrey Brooke / Boots - Hunter / Bracelet - Baublebar

I haven't done a Day to Night post in a while so I thought it would be fun to do another.  Usually when I have plans after work, I either don't want to find a new outfit or I don't have time to change, so I try to find outfits that can quickly transition from day to night with a few small changes.

I wore this last week from work to what I didn't realize was a dinner to celebrate my birthday at Chicago Firehouse with Jeff's dad.  Chicago Firehouse is famous for steaks, but my dad had made some amazing steaks for us a couple days before, so instead we went all in on seafood - shrimp, crab, oysters, lobster, and some fantastic seared scallops.  And then I rolled home.

Ensemble: Day to Night II

Back by popular demand, another installment of day to night!  I wore this to work and then out for drinks with the boy.  Well, drinks and chicken wings, so I probably could have stuck with the day outfit ;)

I decided to pull out my denim jacket after seeing Tasia rock hers - I guess I really should be wearing it year round.

Ensemble: Day to Night

I don't know about you, but I'm constantly trying to find outfits that easily transition from day to night.  Really, when it happens, it's like living the dream.  I got this cool leather sleeve tee from ASOS (purchased basically immediately after seeing it on Lauren from From My Grey Desk) and thought it perfectly fit the bill.  With a couple more quick changes, I was able to go from work to a birthday party.
