So if you frequent this blog, you know that there are a couple of stores that are really my jam, one of the front-runners being J. Crew Factory. And lucky me (unlucky wallet!), they're currently having a sale! Everything is marked down up to 60% off, but with the code EXTRAEXTRA you can save an additional 10% if you buy 3+ items, or an additional 20% if you buy 6+ items. Here are my top picks:

Lace Up Flats
Sweater (similar) - LOFT / Tee and Bag (similar) - J. Crew Factory / Denim - Banana Republic / Flats - BP / Necklace - Madewell
Sometimes I see a trend, and I'm like, "nah." Sometimes I see one and I think I maybe like it, but it takes me a while to jump on the bandwagon. And sometimes, in the case of lace-up flats, I love them immediately, and then try to buy a pair for myself and try on all of the shoes and can never find one I actually like. Seriously, I've tried on tons of lace-up flats, and they either weren't comfortable or didn't come in my size (Do I need to complain about being a size 10.5 again? No, I talk about it all the time and probably don't need to bring it up again? Okay cool.). Or, you know, they were so adorable and in leopard print but also $350. Not happening.
I was so excited to find this pair by BP. Cute, comfortable, my size, and in my budget. Shoe dreams really can come true! I've maybe worn them the past 4 days in a row and am going to keep going - they add such a fun touch to every outfit! Plus my sister says she both "loves and hates them," which is better than her usual "oh god why would you buy that!" response, so, you know, winning.
Are you into lace-up flats? Would you buy a pair?

This Weekend...
This weekend I...
...Finally watched The Intern, and it was so so cute. I want Robert De Nero's character to come be my work guru/spiritual animal. It maybe even made me cry (shhh don't tell).
...Went to a taping of Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (ahem, one of my favorite podcasts), and while my girl Paula Poundstone sadly wasn't on the panel, it was so cool. If you happen to be visiting Chicago on a Thursday night and can remember to buy tickets 6 weeks in advance, I definitely recommend going!
...Had a little day date with Jeff, wandering around town & doing a little shopping - somehow everything we bought was for him! What's happening?!??! We also stopped into Goose Island Brew Pub for some amazing burgers (mine had grilled pancetta on it omgggggg) - now I want to go back for their brewery tour!
...Met up with some friends for drinks at Duke of Perth, which, oddly enough, is the first bar I ever went to when I moved to Chicago. Afterwards we went out to dinner at The Peasantry, which I wouldn't say was my best restaurant experience ever, but the arugula flatbread and cocktail list were on point.
...Went to a Superbowl party and was so totally into the game. Okay, let's be real, I mostly watched commercials and ate some freaking amazing homemade chili cheese dip. Seriously, so good.
I hope you had a good one!

Our Wedding: The Ceremony
Phew, more wedding photos! The ceremony and reception were both at Cafe Brauer at the Lincoln Park Zoo. I go to the zoo way more often than a normal person (when I lived in the area my morning runs took me right past the lions ;) and I literally didn't realize this building existed until people started mentioning it to me as a potential wedding venue. We were looking for places that brought the indoors in (since Jeff and I are way too risk-adverse to plan an outdoor wedding!) and when I walked up the stairs into the main room for the first time I knew this was the place. It was a good thing we decided to go indoors too, because as soon as we started the ceremony it started to rain. That's good luck, right?
See the huppah? My dad made that! It was originally just for my brother's wedding, but then I decided to use it too. Now it's planted in my parent's back yard :)

The Coffee Table
Woooooo we finally got our new coffee table!! It's helping the room feel more "done" (even though our dining room set won't arrive for 6-8 weeks). Plus it's nice to have somewhere to put your drink down other than the floor, where you'll inevitably knock it over and then completely soak your new rug and then have to stuff towels under it and set up a fan to dry things out. Not that that happened.
It also comes with gold legs, oooooooooo...
But the best part about this particular coffee table? Well...
It opens! One section of it pops up, making it super convenient if I want to work from the living room, or be a terrible adult and eat my dinner in front of the tv, or just put my beverage in easier reaching range.
Is this too many pictures of one coffee table? Sorry, I really am just this excited.

Pencil Skirt + A Bow
Blouse (similar) - LOFT / Skirt (similar) - J.Crew Factory / Booties - Adrienne Vittadini / Belt - Ann Taylor / Bag (now available in coral too!) - Kate Spade / Necklace - c/o LovelyWholeSale
Whenever I throw on a pencil skirt and heels, I hear a little voice in my head that says, "I wish I had to dress up for work." And then I beat it back, because, well, it's fun for one day, but dress pants in the Chicago winter are the absolute worst. Jeans and booties all the time, please!

Playing Catchups
It was a weird and not too exciting weekend for me, so instead of talking about the weekend, let's talk about my trip to Florida!
A friend has a condo down in Naples, so we decided to have a little ladies trip/escape from winter. Winter then decided to get us back by planning a blizzard for the day we flew out - one girl had a layover in Nashville and came SUPER close to getting stuck there. I basically had my fingers crossed my entire flight, but we all made it!
Thanks to the blizzard it was super windy and cool most of the time we were there, but we still fit in lots of giggles, lots of wine in wine sippies, lots of seafood, and lots of running around taking ridiculous pictures on the beach. We also fit in day trips to Lover's Key for some hiking/screaming about bugs and snakes, and Keewaydin Island to pretend we're incredibly wealthy and roll around on the beach. Sorry for blowing up Insta and Snapchat ;)
Weird housekeeping note - I'm going to start scheduling my posts for 6am CST instead of 8am, so feel free to stop by bright and early every day!
