A Little More Flannel

Sweater (similar) - Banana Republic / Shirt (similar) - Old Navy / Leggings - Zella / Boots - Bandolino / Bag (similar) - Old Navy / Watch - Wristology / Necklace (similar) - BaubleBar

So I swear I've been wearing this sweater with things that are not a plaid button down, but I somehow only manage to take pictures of the sweater styled like this. Whoops. It's such a cozy combination though that I just can't help myself. Sadly the sweater is now sold out, but I've linked a couple of similar options.

On a completely unrelated note, I've gotten super into SnapChat lately. I really hated it at first (mostly because there's no commenting or likes!) but I'm really starting to like it now - it's fun to share little unfiltered moments of my life with all of you. Sweaters & Plaid

Sweater (similar) - Banana Republic Factory / Jacket (similar) - JCrew Factory / Leggings - Zella / Scarf (similar) and Bag - Old Navy / Boots - Bandolino / Watch - Wristology

We have officially hit that point in fall where I just want to wear all of the sweaters. I know in a few months I'll be totally sick of them, but for now, bring on all of the cable knits! I also can't stop wearing these leggings. Like, I know they reaaaaaally aren't work appropriate, but we don't have a dress code in my office so I maybe have been wearing them every day. Comfy > corporate.

On a totally unrelated note, this weekend is my 10 year high school reunion! It's so cliche to say, but I really can't believe high school was that long ago. I'm excited to see some people I haven't seen in years and am prepared for lots of awkward moments. Fingers crossed one of the student bands has a surprise reunion performance ;) I also am trying out Rent the Runway for the first time this weekend (for a dress that is, I rented all of my wedding jewelry from RTR) and am excited to see how it goes. I also have about 13 backup dresses picked out just in case the whole renting formal wear thing doesn't quite work out. Have you used Rent the Runway before, and if so, did you spend waaaaay too long reading other people's reviews & creeping on their pictures?

And a second unrelated topic - I finally joined Snapchat! I know I'm YEARS late on this. Now if I could only find a young person to show me how it works... You can follow me at kristinadoes - stay tuned for amusing high school reunion pics this weekend!

Buffalo, Stripes, & Chambray

Tee (similar) and Chambray (similar) - Loft / Jeans - Madewell / Scarf - Old Navy (gifted) / Boots - Sole Society / Watch - Kate Spade

Pattern mixing used to be such a scary thing (I remember being totally freaked to try this combo back in 2013!) but now I don't even realize I'm doing it. A little buffalo plaid with stripes? No problem. I probably should have tossed in some leopard to really make it fun. I got this scarf for Christmas and I love how easy it is to wear. It's just one small loop that goes right over your head so you don't have to worry about twisting it around or getting it to fall right. Scarves for beginners.

Oh, and yes, you're right, I am wearing those Madewell jeans again. I was this close to taking them back, and then my go-to pair started to disintegrate. I decided I was just being a bit hypercritical of them, the knees really aren't any bigger than any other pair I own. And in case you're wondering, I did break my "no more boots" ban and grabbed another pair during Sole Society's after Christmas sale. They were final sale, which was a bit of a mistake because they hit my ankle bone a little funny. With extra thick socks it isn't that noticeable, but I'm hoping they break in a little better.

In other clothes related news, I have to get my headshot taken at work today, which was weirdly stressful to plan an outfit for. It feels like getting ready for school photos all over again. I'm writing this post in advance, so fingers crossed I didn't freak out and pick out something totally crazy this morning!

Buffalo Plaid

Shirt - Old Navy / Scarf - H&M / Leggings - JCrew Factory / Boots (similar save or splurge) - Enzo Angiolini / Bag - Forever 21 / Bracelet (similar) - BaubleBar

Who else is so ready to kick of the holiday season this week? Today is a short day for me at work so I am just itching to get things started. I can't wait for all of the turkey, mashed potatoes, family, and napping. One thing I'm not excited for? Black Friday. As I mentioned last year, I refuse to go out to stores on Black Friday (or Thanksgiving night, as it's started to become). I hate shopping on Friday because I really dislike shopping with the crowds, and I would never, ever go on Thursday because I don't think stores should be open at all - everyone should get to be home with their families. Don't get me wrong though, I am very pro-online shopping this coming weekend. I made a list of most of the gifts I want get for people this year (as well as a couple of things for myself) and am planning on getting most of them on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

So anyway, shopping rant over. I hope all of you have a great holiday weekend. I'm going to be taking a long bloggy break for Thanksgiving and will be back on Monday with a big old weekend recap.
