A Little Lilac

Wrap - LOFT / Tee - J. Crew Factory / Jeans - J. Crew / Shoes - Nordstrom / Necklace - Tiffany's / Bag (similar here and here, I also love this one!)  - Ann Taylor

I'm all about the wraps in winter, but scarves (or kimonos or ruanas or wraps or whatever you want to call them) have never been on my radar for warm weather. I really didn't get it - I mean, it's already hot, why would you add another layer?

Oh duhhhh, because there's such a thing as a light layer!

I mean really, this particular wrap is so lightweight and breezy it's like you're wearing nothing, but it adds so much dimension to an outfit. This particular wrap is actually completely open on the sides so you can wear it as a scarf if you so choose. I'm definitely planning on bringing it on all of our upcoming trips since it's so versatile!

Oh and speaking of all of those upcoming trips, I realized that this weekend is basically our last weekend without plans for almost two months (!!) so I'm planning on relaxing it up! I'm basically the queen of couch time, and I'm looking forward to sneaking a lot of that in. We've also got a little dinner date in the works - and probably some cocktails too ;)

OTK Boots and a Skirt

Sweater (similar), Skirt (similar), Necklace (a birthday gift!) - LOFT / Boots - Kaitlyn Pan / Bag (similar) - Coach Factory / Watch - Wristology

One of the reasons I really wanted to hop on the over-the-knee boot trend? It means you don't have to wear tights! I seriously hate having to wear tights, they're so constrictive and uncomfortable, so I usually end up not wearing skirts or dresses at all in the winter! But with OTK boots, that's not a problem! Plus, they're super warm. Like, 100x warmer than tights. I've heard these boots referred to as "boot pants," and that's seriously what they are!

Not a lot in my wardrobe ends up standing the test of time, but my skirt and sweater have been around for what feels like forever at this point (or, you know, at least five years). The sweater gets pulled out every year when I want to feel spring-y (and even made it into our engagement photos!), and the skirt has had several lives - the entire hem came out at one point and then it took me about a year to manage to get it fixed. I actually can sew a hem, but this one is invisible and was too much stress for me to try to fix myself. I'm glad I finally got it repaired though, because it's one of my favorite things. The a-line style is super flattering - my sister even complimented me on it, and it's hard to pull a compliment on my clothes out of her ;) Looking at these pictures is making me wonder why I don't own more pretty little skirts like this one. Adding that to my shopping list!

A Little More Lavender & White

Blouse - Banana Republic / Skirt (similar) and Bag (similar) - Ann Taylor / Heels (similar) - Sole Society / Necklace - J. Crew Factory

It turns out that besides my blue & pink obsession, I'm also really into lavender and white (ahem). It's such a pretty color combination that I wear it year after year. This shell actually has a pretty lazer-cut pattern on the bottom bottom so I've previously only worn it with pants and shorts, but I realized how versatile it can be when tucked into a skirt for work. My company doesn't have a dress code for the office so I usually keep things pretty casual, but it's fun to dress up a little every once and a while.

I bought this skirt last year when I found it on super-sale, and while I probably didn't need another white skirt (I think I have five or six in my closet!) this one has actually gotten a lot of use - thanks to the shape its great for work, date night, or a wedding or baby shower. This particular skirt is no longer in stores, but I linked up a couple of similar skirts below:

Lavender & White

Buongiorno! I wanted to show off my Italian skills, but really I still only know how to say, "La donna legge il giornale" which is super helpful for our trip. Jeff and I are still honeymooning it up in Italy and hopefully stuffing our faces with all of the pasta and gelato. Here's another previously scheduled post.

I have no idea why, but I had the hardest time styling this skirt. Like, last summer I'm pretty sure I wore it once. It's just a white skirt. In my brain I can think of 100 ways to wear it (or really, at least 4) but then in reality they never quite work out. Until I decided to pair it with this pretty lavender sweater for work. And then when I got to work I topped it with a giant fleece because the inside of my office is the same temperature as the inside of a glacier. I was trying to do blazers for work layers, but that is so not working out.

Cream & Lavender

Sweater - Loft / Skirt - c/o Sammydress / Sandals - Sole Society (similar) / Necklace - c/o Anjolee / Ring - F21 (old) / Earrings - LC Lauren Conrad (old)

I'm clearly a big statement necklace fan, but recently, more often than not I find myself reaching for simple, delicate pieces.  This gorgeous one carat CZ necklace Anjolee sent me definitely fits the bill.  Anjolee lets you customize any of their jewelry, so you can get exactly what you want. I chose to get this on a longer chain, short necklaces can look weird on me because of my chest.  While this necklace is beautiful, a sparkly diamond tennis necklace sounds pretty good to me too :)

I'm dressing down the necklace here with this cute lavender sweater (last seen here), but I could also see wearing it for a fancy night out in my favorite LBD.  I haven't worn it since my friend's wedding two summers ago, but I'm hoping I'll have an occasion to pull it out soon - maybe an upcoming wedding this summer at the Adler Planetarium?  I went through all of my fancy dresses last week and had to get rid of a bunch because they're too big, but luckily this one still fits.

I hope you're having a good week so far - it's dragging a little for me but only because I know there's a three day weekend coming up!  I'm really excited for it since I haven't had any days off work since March.  Hopefully the weather cooperates!

Lavender & Denim

Shirt - Gap (similar) / Jacket - Elle (old, similar) / Jeans and Necklace (similar) - Old Navy / Sneakers - Reebok / Watch - Michael Kors (old, similar)

This lavender striped shirt has been my go-to piece the past couple of months, maybe because it's the thing that feels "springiest" in my closet.  Here I dressed it down with double denim and some sneakers, but I've also worn it dressed up and for a day at the beach.  I swear I also wear it with things other than white pants/shorts.  You know, just occasionally.

White & Lavender

Sweater - Loft / Shirt - Gap / Jeans and Necklace (similar) - Old Navy / Shoes - Sole Society / Watch - Michael Kors

I haven't been wearing a ton of color the past couple of months, which is really weird for me.  I'm usually the girl who's all about color all the time.  Maybe I was suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder or something, because as soon as it hit 70 this weekend (70!!) I had to break out some color.  These pieces are really lightweight, which makes them perfect for Spring layering.  Oh, and yes, I did break out the snakeskin heels again.  What can I say, it's love.
