Blushing

Coat (on sale for over half off!!) and Sweater - J. Crew / Scarf (similar) - Hinge / Jeans - Gap / Booties (other colors available here and here) - TOMS / Earrings (similar) - LOFT (a gift!) / Necklace - Stella & Dot / Bag - Tory Burch

So first, I wanted to apologize for continuously sharing this scarf, because it's old and unavailable. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry! The thing is, I share things I really wear on this blog, and I really wear this scarf all the time.

That being said, I've done a little research, and have found some other adorable striped blanket scarf options for you that I hope will make all of your scarf dreams come true. This one and this one are probably the best but aren't available through my widget! Here are the rest:

Okay, and then next up, this sweater. I told you in my budget post yesterday that it was so good, and seriously, it is so good. The length is long enough to wear with leggings but not too long (because oversized sweaters that are too long can look awkward!). The fabric is insanely soft, it's more of a thin fleece than anything else. And I love the wrap detail. There's lots of wrap sweaters out there right now, but I feel like a lot of them hug the body awkwardly and aren't very flattering. Not this one! I swear, I put it on and thought I had dropped ten pounds. It somehow hugs and skims at the same time.

Oh, and I'm actually wearing this sweater backwards here. Whaaaaat?! Yes, that's right, it's reversible. I wore it as a deep v (sans tank - oh dang weekend Kristina!) here, but would definitely turn it around to have a higher neckline in front and lower back for work. I actually have a history of reversing tops that weren't meant to be reversed, so I'm really loving that this top works both ways.

And yes, it was weekend Kristina who took this look for a spin. We went out on Saturday morning to celebrate a friend's birthday at Brickhouse, and wound up at an all-you-can-drink brunch where they didn't kick us out after two hours. Seriously, we were there for over four, and they dropped off a full bottle of champagne for us right before the brunch hours ended. It was a bit of a dangerous Saturday, made worse by the fact that our waitress dropped off a round of birthday fireball shots for us at noon, topped with mini cupcakes! I mean, I don't actually know the last time I took a shot, let alone at noon. I couldn't say no to a shot that came with a cupcake though, of course, so it was a bit of an interesting day ;) I managed to not spill on my sweater though nor did I post anything too embarrassing to Instastories, so we're calling it a win.

Think Pink!

Every year around this time, I start gravitating toward an all-pink wardrobe. Seriously, back in 2014 I had a hard time sharing an outfit here that wasn't pink (See here, here, and here. Also, how terrible are those photos?! Were they seriously that blurry when I posted them??)

Anyway, I'm clearly back on the pink train, and I'm raring for more! Here are a few of my picks:

Blue & White & Pink

Dress - Old Navy / Jacket (similar) - J. Crew Factory / Sandals (similar) - Michael Kors / Bag (similar) - Coach Factory / Necklace (similar) - BaubleBar

My sister and I went shopping for summer clothes for my baby niece a little while ago and were joking that her color scheme for the summer is going to be "blue and white with pops of pink" - looks like that's going to be me too! I tried on this dress at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and had to have it (and then returned it and repurchased it online after discovering it was way on sale on the internets) and was so excited to finally be able to pull it out over the weekend. Old Navy sizing can be a bit inconsistent, but I would definitely say to size down for this dress - I'm wearing a medium. The reviews online said that it was ill-fitting and unflattering, but for this curvy girl it is perfect

I don't know about you, but my favorite season for clothes is definitely summer. Sure, I get excited every fall to pull out my boots and jackets, but that is nowhere near my excitement level to start wearing dresses and skirts again without tights. Skirts and dresses tend to be the most flattering on me, but I also love them because they're the great fashion equalizer. Wear a dress and tights in the winter and you're definitely dressed up, but a dress in the summer can easily fit into the dress code no matter the occasion. Plus, you know, the twirling.

What's your favorite season to dress for?

A Little Pink

Shirt (similar herehere and here) - JCrew Factory / Denim (similar here and here) - Gap / Shoes (similar) - Madewell / Necklace - BaubleBar / Wallet - Kate Spade / Watch - Wristology

Sometimes all a girl needs is a little pink, if you know what I'm saying. This week has been by far my craziest of the year at work so I haven't been getting a ton of sleep, but the little hint of pink is enough to brighten my mood. That being said, I am sooooo glad it's Friday! We don't have a ton on the docket for this weekend, and I am excited to actually get some things done around the house. I'm also weirdly excited for the weather - it's supposed to be seriously cool tomorrow! Can someone say booties and scarves?!

Do you have any big plans for the weekend?

I did not wear this for Valentine's Day

But maybe I should have.  For some reason I thought blush was a good idea for February the 13th.  Then Friday morning rolled around and I said "Ohhhhhhhhhh crap."  I'm pretty sure I wore pink every day last week so I was literally out of pink things to wear.  Silly me.  It was a happy February 13th though!

Also I found this sweater at Loft, thought it was adorable, and brought it home.  Then I tried it on again and started having flashbacks.  I'm pretty sure I owned the exact same sweater in high school.  If it's the sweater I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure I wore it in my senior photos and may be able to find photographic evidence when I'm at my parents' house this weekend.  We shall see blogland, we shall see.

Black and White and Pink

And so continuing the pink trend, I broke out my new pink Coach Factory bag for a little dinner date with Jeff and his parents out in Oak Park over the weekend.  We went to Mancini's, which is actually in the 36 Hours book Jeff got me a couple of weeks ago.  I had an asian salmon salad, and it may have been the best salmon salad I've ever had.  Seriously.  It was so good, I decided I could handle eating healthy again and hopped back on Lose It this week.  Last spring I lost 11 pounds using Lose It, but since I added a few back over the holidays it seemed like as good a time as any to get back into the swing of things.  Personally, I think it worked for me because I could still eat whatever I wanted, I just had to exercise if I wanted to eat ice cream and if I was going to binge out on snacks they had to be healthy to fit into my calorie plan.

Blouse - Loft / Leggings - JCrew Factory / Boots - Enzo Angiolini (old, similar) / Bag - Coach Factory (similar) / Bracelet - Michael Kors / Necklace - Stella & Dot

Oh and see my nails?  The mani I got this weekend was Essie "Find Me an Oasis" and I am loving it, it's a really pretty light blue.  I just may have to buy a bottle for myself ;)

Have a very happy almost Friday!

In February, we wear pink.

Every year as soon as February rolls around, I start wearing pink.  I'm not sure if it's because of all of the Valentine's Day stuff floating around, or just because I get really sick of winter and start wearing pastels in hopes that spring will come soon.  Either way, a little pink always makes me happy.

Shirt and Jeans - Gap / Sweater and necklace - NY&Co (both old) / Boots - Tahari (similar) / Watch - Michael Kors (old)

Oh, and yes, that's a little scoop truck behind me in the first picture.  For some reason when it snows in my neighborhood, they bring in little trucks to pick up the snow piles and put them into a dump truck and drive it away.  Does that happen in other places?  I've never seen it anywhere else.

You can also see where I wore this gingham shirt here and here.
