The Last Shorts of the Year

Shorts and I had a pretty good run this year.  I wore them with blazers, with long sleeves, with graphic tees, and with boots.  But I think it may be time to pack them up until next year, because, well, last weekend, I had to put on a winter coat.  Don't worry shorts, we will definitely meet again.

Casual Weekend

This weekend it bounced back up to the upper 70's, so I decided to pull out my shorts one last time.  I've really been loving the look of long sleeves with shorts lately, so I paired them with my favorite long sleeve tee.  It was perfect for an afternoon of running errands and looking cute while taking 10 minutes attempting to parallel park downtown #strugs.

Mint & Shorts

I wore this sweater over the weekend, and my mom could not believe that it's four years old.  "But it's mint! Mint is so now!"  Apparently pastels are forever.

We've hit a weird weather phase in Chicago where every day the weather man says it will be eighty degrees, except for by the lake, where it'll be sixty.  The lake effect is REAL.  Apparently the Great Lakes are still partially frozen/colder than usual because of the polar vortices (yes, that is the plural for vortex, I looked it up), which means instead of slightly cooler by the lake, it's been really really really cooler by the lake.  I put this on for a dinner date with a friend after hearing an optimistic weather report, but sadly had to head back inside and add some pants to the mix.  Someday it'll be your day, adorable polka dotted shorts, I promise!
