Dressed Up Sweatshirt

The dressed up lounge wear trend has to be my favorite thing right now. I love that it's socially acceptable for me to go out in track pants or a sweatshirt, no matter the occasion (okay, well, maybe not work). This particular sweatshirt caught my eye at Kohl's when I was just supposed to be running in to make a return (whoopsies) and while I've mainly been wearing it while bumming around the house or working from home, I love that it can also be dressed up with some coated skinnies and a statement necklace.

Coated & Jeweled

I feel like I've been having this problem lately, where I feel like I've been neglecting the trendier items in my closet (like these coated jeans), and then feel like I have to wear them.  I give you exhibit A.  I was trying to get dressed for a dinner date with a friend, and decided I had to get some use out of my coated denim.  And then spent forty five minutes in my closet trying to plan an outfit around them.  I should have given up and just worn something else, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.  The struggle is real.

Another problem I've been having is shooting a bunch of pictures, thinking they look fine, and then loading them onto my computer the next day and realizing they were all out of focus.  D'oh.  I should really just check them sooner, but I usually take pictures of my outfits in real time (read: as I'm about to run out the door) so there isn't time.  So sorry about the blurry pics you guys, I'll try to do better!

Green & Coated

Emerald may have been the color of 2013, but I seem to be wearing it everywhere these days.

I have been less a fan of the wind lately, but it still seems to be everywhere in 2014.

Black and White and Coated

I was having a hard time finding coated jeans that got good reviews - it seems most of them lose their coating after a few washes.  I really wanted a pair, but the reviews everywhere, from the high end to low end, were not great.  So finally I caved when Old Navy was having a sale and decided to go cheap, if the coating was going to wear off anyway.  I've only worn these a couple of times so there haven't been any issues yet.

I wore this out to dinner with Jeff and his mom and cousin a couple weekends ago.  I wanted to get a little dressed up, but still leave room for all of the Japanese BBQ I was planning on putting in my belly.  It worked out well ;)
