The Cutest Black Sweater

Sweater - Loft / Jeans - J.Crew / Mules - Sam Edelman / Bag - Tory Burch / Earrings - gifted so I'm not sure where they're from, but here are a few with a similar vibe: one, two, three, four

What, an outfit post? Did I ::gasp:: GO OUTSIDE?!??!

Lol these pictures are actually from the last weekend before quarantine (BQ) when we went out to brunch with a bunch of friends as a late birthday celebration for me. I was sitting on the pictures, thinking it was weird to post them in quarantine, but as that was now FIVE WEEKS ago I'm feeling like it's now or never. How long until it's cool to go outside again?

This sweater though. This sweater! It just makes me feel cool. I love the puff sleeves. I love the pointelle pattern. I love it so much I bought it in white too (worn here)! It's just a sweater that feels very now. I actually couldn't find the jeans I wanted to pair it with here (they were hiding in my workout clothes drawer for two weeks, if that gives you any idea of how much I work out), but dark wash skinnies really go with everything, am I right? A washed black jean though feels super fresh with them. I'm thinking this style of sweater will be fun moving into spring too paired with distressed shorts.

Just a note that this sweater is completely see through, in case you couldn't tell. I'm wearing a nude cami underneath it. I would actually recommend a tank with a higher neckline after seeing these pictures!

That's all I've got for you for today - stay healthy out there!!

Camel Stripes

Sweater - LOFT / Tee - J.Crew Factory / Maternity Leggings - Blanqi / Flats - Sam Edelman / Bag - Tory Burch / Necklace - Stella & Dot

I told you guys I was coming up with a "pregnancy uniform" right? Well this is mainly what I've been wearing lately - a tee, leggings, and a cardigan. It's easy yet still looks really pulled together, is comfortable, and will grow with me through the end of February, when I can only assume I will be the size of a small whale. Plus, this cute striped cardigan will fit post-pregnancy too. I'm all about the camel lately, paired with black and white it looks so sophisticated! It's really pretty for fall, but it's also one of those colors you can really wear year-round.

As far as how the pregnancy is going, well, it's a little harder to hide the bump these days!! Apparently my baby is the size of a cantaloupe, which frankly sounds bigger to me than most newborns haha. I really have hit the sweet spot of pregnancy though, I'm feeling kicks now which is fun but they aren't so strong that they really bother me yet, and the only real issue I'm dealing with is waking up a lot in the middle of the night to get comfortable. Oh and I'm also weirdly hoping I get pregnancy cravings - not just so that I can send Jeff out at night to find me something random, but because it seems like one of those rites of passage. Fingers crossed that things stay this good and easy!

Try-On Session: LOFT

I keep ordering things from LOFT and then ran into the store last week, so I have lots of goodness to share with you! I actually tried on a few more things in stores but can't find them online for the life of me! So I'll go ahead and share them if they become available.

Me in this picture: I don't need a kimono I don't need a kimono I don't need a kimono ;)

But really I love this. I thought based on the photos online that it wouldn't be soft, but it's really a soft, knit material. I grabbed the xs/s size - I suggest always going for the smaller size for kimonos/wraps because they are typically so large. It's currently sitting in my shopping cart waiting for the sale I assume is coming this weekend.

This is so cute and super soft in person. The entire side is basically a side slit though, so know that whatever you wear underneath is super visible. The top is really cropped in the smaller sizes but gets larger as you size up. I'm in a large here which has a great length, but the medium was way too short.

I'm wearing these in the outfit above too, they're really comfortable and fit true to size. I thought the way they're cut isn't the best for me though, they're smaller in the waist and really large in the leg openings.

I love this blazer too, so freaking cute!! I only own black and navy blazers, so I'd love to have a grey option. The sleeves were too short (hence the roll), but online it comes in a tall also. I grabbed a 14 which is my typical size. I'd love to have this in the office for when the air conditioner is blasting, but I think it would also be really cute dressed down with a tee and shorts.

I've been looking for a pair of light wash jeans to wear with warm weather tops but have come up empty so far. I love the little bit of distressing on these, but the crop is just too short on me. The fit is true to size.

I thought this skirt was adorable and fit true to size. It just isn't quite for my body type, you can see that it's trying to give me hips. So so pretty for summer though, I love the slightly longer length.

These shorts are so freaking adorable. I love the little ruffle, they look more like a mini skirt in real life. They are a little bit of a dressier fabric which I love. I tucked in my tank here so you could see them, but I don't think I would really tuck in real life. They do have a side zip and fit true to size.

I freaking love this top. It's light and airy, the fit is slightly over-sized (wearing a large here) and the crochet detailing is oh so cute. I wore it with regular denim over the weekend, but would love to pair it with white shorts.

Another try for light wash jeans. These ones are actually an okay length on me and are comfortable, but I accidentally bought them two sizes too big.

This top is lightweight and I love the pom poms, but the cut is a little problematic. The straps are way too long on me but there isn't a good place where it looks like they could be tailored. Plus the boob gap in the front... not cute! Wearing an XL here.

I love the light blue color and the eyelet, and there s a really pretty trim along the neck and arm holes. I'm wearing my typical dress size here and I just wasn't thrilled with the shape on me so thi swent back.

Ensemble: Too Trendy

I realized after putting this on, that it included lace, florals, pastel, black and white, and stripes.  Too many trends for one outfit?  I think not!

Shirt - Loft / Skirt - Express (old, similar here) / Shoes - Nine West / Necklace - Stella & Dot / Bracelet - Michael Kors / Ring - LC Lauren Conrad (similar here)

This little necklace was a birthday present to myself.  I want to wear it just about every day.

Ensemble: Easter Sunday

For Easter this year, I tagged along with the boyfriend and his family to church and then out to brunch.          I haven't managed to make it to church in quite a while, but whenever I do go it feels like home.  Which was weird in this particular case since I've never been to their church before, and I grew up a different denomination.

Getting dressed for Easter always seems like the ultimate excuse to get a little dressed up and look super spring-y.  It was nice enough on Sunday that I could rock bare legs for the first time this year!

Dress and Cardi - Loft / Shoes - Payless / Belt - H&M (old, similar here) / Bracelet and Watch - Michael Kors / Necklace - Stella & Dot

For anyone who doesn't believe it's actually windy in Chicago, here's your proof:

This wasn't even a particularly windy day.  This is just my standard look when I walk around outside, often accompanied by tears from the sun and wind.  The boyfriend says other people must always think we're in a fight because there are always tears in my eyes.  Side effect of living a stone's throw away from Lake Michigan I guess.

The wind is always fun though when you're wearing a swingy dress.  Big skirts like this always make me feel super feminine.  This dress is definitely my new favorite, now I just need to find more excuses to wear it!

Do you still dress up for Easter?

Ensemble: Pastels

I'm really into pastels right now, they're so soft and pretty.  I got this sweater and wasn't too sure about it until I tried it with these pink jeans I bought last near and never really wore.  I love when I'm able to rediscover something in my closet!

Sweater - Old Navy / Jeans (old, similar here) and Flats - LOFT / Necklace - Etsy (gift) / Watch - Michael Kors / Ring (similar here) - LC Lauren Conrad

My sister got me this pretty pressed leaf necklace for my birthday.  She thinks I don't like it so I had to prove her wrong.

On a sidebar, I have some obnoxiously long legs.  My boyfriend is six inches taller than me yet we have the same inseam.  These jeans are supposed to be ankle length.  Ummmm, incorrect!
