Ruffled Seersucker

Dress - J.Crew Factory / Bag - Clare V / Earrings (also available here) - BaubleBar / Sandals (similar here and here) - Sole Society

It turns out, I still have photos from our trip down to Florida to share! I've been so busy since our trip at the beginning of June that it already feels like it was so long ago, when really we were just there last month.

Jeff's family trip to Florida is one of my favorites because it really is just a week of relaxing - we spent most days going back and forth between the pool and the beach! Everyone keeps it really casual all week, but I packed one nice dress for the fancy dinner out we would inevitably have. This striped one-shoulder dress definitely fit the bill - how cute is that ruffle?! The seersucker just screams vacation to me - in fact, I packed it for our trip to Napa too!

Luckily for you, I waited so long to share these pictures with you that this dress is now on clearance - just a few sizes are left but at a great price! It's definitely a cute one if you have any events coming up this summer!

Blue & White on the Beach

Top (exact sold out, similar here and here) - LOFT / Shorts - J.Crew Factory / Bag - Clare V / Scarf (similar here) - Vera Bradley / Earrings (also available here) - BaubleBar / Sandals (similar here and here) - Old Navy

These pictures are really making me want to take another trip to the beach - anyone else?

I love going to the beach in Chicago, but it's so nice to go and stay right on the beach sometimes - it means you can visit all throughout the day. My favorite part of our trip to Florida was the morning Jeff and I got up early (okay, 7am ;) and headed out to take a walk down by the water. We basically had the whole beach to ourselves!

Whenever I take a beach trip, I basically pack all blue and white clothing. It's partially because all of my favorite clothes for summer are blue and white, and partially because it just makes packing that much easier - you just know that everything can mix and match!

I'm loving this top but this exact one is sold out. Here are a few similar blue and white options in case you have any beach trips coming up - or are just as in love with blue and white in the summer as me ;)

Another Little White Dress

Dress (similar here and here) - Lilly Pulitzer / Bag - Clare V / Scarf (similar here and here) - Vera Bradley / Earrings (similar here too) - BaubleBar / Sandals (similar here, here, and here) - Sole Society / Bracelet - Michael Kors

My favorite little white dress made another appearance during our trip to the beach last week (previously seen here and here). I mean, is it even a beach trip if you don't wear a white dress?

Okay, yes, probably.

This white dress was actually one of many white pieces I brought to the beach because, well, it's the beach, but the only one of those white items that escaped the trip unscathed. My white shorts? Covered in dirt. My white tank? Attacked by my blush, and later by my rum drink. My white tee? Succumbed to some very melty mint chocolate chip. But the little white dress? Safe.

I feel like I just jinxed it.

Little Chambray Dress

Dress - J. Crew Factory / Bag (also available here or in black, or a budget-friendly option) - Clare V / Sandals (similar here and here, I also love these statement sandals) - Sole Society / Earrings (also available here) - BaubleBar / Sunglasses - Loft

Sometimes you go on vacation, and you go wine tasting, and then when you're getting ready to leave you remember you meant to take photos and now you have to take slightly tipsy photos in direct sunlight, without vineyards in the background.

Not that I'm saying that's what happened here.

But you guys, I was such a hater on the whole Michigan wine thing. I mocked it, kind of to a lot of people. I'm just not a sweet wine person, and I really thought that was what all Michigan wine was. So you can say that I was less than excited to  go wine tasting over the weekend. Well that's not really the right way to put it. I mean, I'm always excited to drink wine. I just didn't view Michigan wine tasting as one of my must-do activities.

Okay, okay, okay, turns out I was wrong. It turns out Michigan makes some great wines! We went to Dablon Winery one afternoon and managed to squeeze in next to a giant bachelorette party at the bar to try a few. They actually had a huge selection (not sure how they manage that?) so you got to pick which wines you wanted to try, and I actually liked everything except, oddly enough, their rosé!

After tasting at the bar we decided we wanted to hang out on their beautiful patio for a while so we grabbed a bunch of cheeses and meats and crackers along with a couple of bottles of wine. I really am sad we couldn't get photos in front of the vineyards (the light was just coming from the wrong angle) because it really was so beautiful. On the drive home from the weekend, we were all talking about our favorite parts of the trip, and we all agreed that afternoon out on the patio was the best.

Easy Vacation Style

Dress (I also love this one and this one) - J. Crew Factory / Bag (or a budget-friendly version) - Clare V / Necklace (similar here) - BP / Sandals - Target

What kind of vacation style do you have?

I often have plans for elaborate outfits and fun accessories, but at the end of the day, I tend to just want to wear something easy and comfortable. I mean heck, after the second day I've usually given up on makeup and doing anything to my hair besides combing it after I shower, so I certainly can't put a lot of time into what I'm going to wear.

That's where easy pieces like this dress come in. I wore this for our drive up to Michigan on Friday and then out to dinner that night, and I managed to look and feel appropriate for both. I mean, the dress is super, super comfortable, yet structured enough to be flattering. Plus the sleeves. I mean, the sleeves.

I added in a few simple accessories, including these sandals I'm loving from Target. They have a cushioned bottom (which is basically the only way I'm doing sandals from now on because #oldladyprobs) and seemingly go with everything. And they're perfect for vacation, because the slip on style means I can toss them on to run out into the yard to look at a deer (yes, there were many deer in this yard!) or kick them off to run on the beach, no straps or ties to mess with. Oh, and did I mention they're only $12.99?! Target for the win.

I mean, not like Target is ever not for the win.
