Another Little White Dress

Dress (similar here and here) - Lilly Pulitzer / Bag - Clare V / Scarf (similar here and here) - Vera Bradley / Earrings (similar here too) - BaubleBar / Sandals (similar here, here, and here) - Sole Society / Bracelet - Michael Kors

My favorite little white dress made another appearance during our trip to the beach last week (previously seen here and here). I mean, is it even a beach trip if you don't wear a white dress?

Okay, yes, probably.

This white dress was actually one of many white pieces I brought to the beach because, well, it's the beach, but the only one of those white items that escaped the trip unscathed. My white shorts? Covered in dirt. My white tank? Attacked by my blush, and later by my rum drink. My white tee? Succumbed to some very melty mint chocolate chip. But the little white dress? Safe.

I feel like I just jinxed it.

The Best Little White Dresses For Brides

And just like that, it's wedding season!! My friends are planning showers and bachelorette parties, and it's making me remember how I had such a hard time finding little white dresses for all of those wedding activities. In fact, I didn't even manage to find white dresses for my bridal showers. And no, you don't need to wear white dresses for every wedding activity as the bride, but hey, it's fun right? Plus, little white dresses are the best - they're so cute on everyone and perfect for summer, bride or not!

So I thought I'd round up some little white dresses for you in case you're in the market. So whether you're shopping for your bachelorette party, a wedding shower, or you just look really good in white, here are a few of my favorite little white dresses for summer:

Additional Red, White, and Blue Required

Dress (similar Lily, I also love this one and this one) - Lily Pulitzer / Bag - Old Navy / Earrings - BaubleBar / Sandals (similar) - Sole Society

Oh, I'm sorry, is the Fourth of July over? Because I'm not quite ready to put away all of my red, white and blue! I actually kept wearing it all of last week, and I'll probably keep on going the rest of the summer. It definitely helps that those are the colors for the Cubs!

I have a busy week ahead, between a couple of parties in my work life and my outside life, and trying to fit in all of the family time I can before my brother and sister-in-law head back to South Korea next week so I'll leave it here for now - hope you have a good one!

All Dresses, All of the Time

Dress (similar shirtdress, I also love this one!) - Ann Taylor / Bag (another fun summer tote for less than $30, I also love this cute pom-pom bag!) - Sondra Roberts / Flats - Banana Republic / Jacket - J. Crew Factory / Earrings - J. Crew / Bracelet - Michael Kors

Does it feel like all I've been sharing lately is dresses? Well that's because yes, yes it is all I've been sharing - it's dress season, y'all!! At this point of the year, being able to (comfortably, without freezing to death) pull on a dress is so exciting to me that I end up wearing them all the time. See here, here, and here. Whoops.

As you may have seen, I recently *found* this dress in Jeff's closet (it's been hiding amongst his dress pants since we moved almost two years ago!!) and I was so excited to pull it out again. There's nothing like shopping your own closet, amiright? It's like having something completely new!

In completely unrelated news, I realized I forgot to mention my brother and his wifey got home last night!! You may or may not remember that they have lived in South Korea for the past few years, and I'm super excited to have them home for the summer again. Of course, this year they're only staying four weeks instead of the seven or eight they've done in past years (come on, guys!). I guess I can't really complain about their "short" visit this year though, since we just saw them on our trip to Asia. Speaking of which, can it be spring break again? I need some more quarter beers and bun cha in my life! Anyway, I'm going to have to squeeze in all of the family time I can in the next couple of weeks, starting with a big family barbecue this weekend! Bring on the over-processed meats!!

Pom-Poms and Tassels and Ruffles, Oh My!

Dress (similar dresses - splurge or save, I also love this lace bell-sleeve white dress!) - endless rose / Earrings - BaubleBar / Bag (similar clutch here, I also love this splurge nude crossbody) - Ann Taylor / Sandals (similar here) - Dolce Vita

You guys. Why am I most excited about the warm weather? This dress, of course! I bought it on clearance at the tail end of last summer and only got to wear it a couple of times before bare shoulders became a bad idea. Little white dresses have long been a favorite of mine, and with the tassels, ruffles, and pom-poms, this one's definitely the best in my closet.

Shop more little white dresses:

While little white dresses have less options for wearing, because, you know, you can't wear them to bridal showers, engagement parties, or weddings (aka basically all of the times I have to dress up), I love them for a good old fashioned date night. I wore this over the weekend for a date night at Ampersand, and miraculously made it through the evening without spilling any red wine on myself. I love Ampersand because no matter what I tell them I'm looking for in a bottle they always seem to manage to find the perfect one. Sometimes Jeff and I get really vague about our preferences, and the waiter will bring out a few wines for us to taste before committing to a bottle! The perfect bottle of wine plus a whole lot of cheese equals my perfect night!

I'm actually excited right now because I just booked a date night for our wedding anniversary - we're almost at two years!! How did that happen?! It feels like it was just yesterday that I was pulling on that giant white dress to say, "I do." To celebrate the milestone, we're going to do a cocktail tasting at The Aviary because we're several years behind on restaurant trends, and then heading to Bar Siena for dinner because we went a few months ago and I can't stop thinking about it - more pasta please! We've decided on no gifts though, partially because thinking about "cotton" gifts mostly makes both of us think of Gone Girl, and partially because that reservation at The Aviary is almost $200!! There's our gifts right there ;)

Embroidered White Dress

Dress - c/o eShakti / Heels (similar bow heels here and here)- Ann Taylor / Bag (similar bag is on sale here, I also love this little crossbody!) - Coach / Earrings (similar) - Charming Charlie / Bracelet - Michael Kors

Happy Tuesday! I don't know about you, but I have been so happy lately - I freaking love spring!! I've always said that fall is my favorite season, but I may have to turn things around. The weather lately has been amazing, all of the flowers are starting to come up, and our neighborhood is so cheery and pretty. Chicago can get pretty drab in the winter when it isn't snowing, so all of these spring colors and the sunshine were definitely needed.

I have also been all about the spring whites lately. I don't know how the proper ladies used to wait to pull out their white back in the day, because as soon as the sun comes out it's all I want to wear! I got this cute white dress from eShakti a couple of weeks ago, and it is perfect for spring. I love the length, I love the cut, and I love the embroidery and piping details. So cute!! Plus, you know, pockets ;)

Have you heard of eShakti? It's a clothing company that makes custom clothes based on your measurements, which is so perfect because the majority of clothes don't fit me off the rack. I have a really large bust but also really narrow hips, which can lead to an awkward fit, plus I'm also tall with a short waist. The struggle is really real haha. I love that this dress was made for me because the fit and the length are both perfect! It seriously fits like a glove. You guys, it might be love ;) I'm definitely looking for the next occasion to pull this little baby out!
