What to Shop at the Sephora VIB Sale
So I mentioned last week that I somehow managed to make VIB status at Sephora - whoops! The main benefit of that, of course, is early access to their VIB sale that starts on Friday!! The sale is 20% off just about everything for VIB members (use code 20VIB), which is an awesome way to stock up on your favorites at a discount as well as try out some new items, and stock up on those holiday gift sets!
So what will I be shopping during the sale?
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector - I bought a travel size of this earlier in the year and have been seriously loving it - it's the perfect luminizer! It makes my skin look really beautiful, and helps with that whole strobing thing. Since I'm starting to run low, I'm definitely upgrading to the regular size this time.
Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II - I haven't tried this one, but since I'm turning 30 in a couple of months (eek!!) I've been trying to take extra good care of my skin. I even bought a silk pillowcase since I usually sleep on my face! This serum gets amazing reviews, so I'm really excited to try adding it to my routine.
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - I've been using this under-eye concealer on and off for a couple of years now, and I keep coming back because it seriously gives the best coverage. I have terrible under-eye circles so this is one of my beauty-must haves, I'll go outside without mascara before I go outside without my under-eye concealer!
Fresh Sugar Lip Seduction - I love these little lip colors, and in a kit they're so cute! This is the perfect way to get all of your colors at once and save a bit of cash. The kit would also make a great gift for the holidays! All of the Fresh Sugar Lip gift sets sold out really early at Sephora last year, so be sure to grab it now if you want it!
Colorescience Sunforgettable® Loose Mineral Sunscreen Brush Broad Spectrum SPF 50 - I saw Melissa Joan Hart using this at the pool over the summer, and really, whatever's good enough for Clarissa is good enough for me. Seriously though, I love the idea of a sunscreen I can brush on over my makeup throughout the day versus a lotion or spray. Not to be your mom or anything, but wear sunscreen!!
Origins Out Of Trouble™ 10 Minute Mask To Rescue Problem Skin - This mask has been in my beauty arsenal for years now - it's perfect for when I feel a breakout coming on! The mask is designed to treat problem areas. Since my main problem area is my chin, I usually just apply it there to avoid drying out the rest of my skin, which gives me a nice little white goatee for ten minutes that Jeff definitely loves ;)
NEST Birchwood Pine Scented Candle - Who knew that you could buy NEST candles at Sephora?! I got a couple of these little guys in the mail this week, and oh. my. gosh. Best smell ever. They are instant Christmas in a jar. Plus the packaging is so cute, they would make the perfect little gift too!
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day® Night Cap Overnight Perfector - This overnight hair mask is seriously the bomb. Yes, I just used the phrase "the bomb." I don't remember to use this every day, but whenever I do I wake up with silky soft hair. Since I dye my hair it could use all the extra moisture it can get!
So tell me, what are you shopping at the VIB sale? Did I miss anything??

A Little Vino in Napa
Sweater - LOFT / Tee (similar) - Target / Denim - Madewell / Boots - TOMS / Bag - Sole Society / Bracelet - Michael Kors / Necklace - Stella & Dot
Like I mentioned yesterday, we got back from Napa on Sunday night and I loved it. Besides a little mishap with some of our wine getting back (The airport lost it! But luckily it arrived on our doorstep last night) the trip was absolutely perfect. The weather was beautiful, the wine was flowing, and I think I started a life-long love affair with the Napa Valley. I was there Tuesday through Thursday for work, and then Jeff flew up Thursday night to meet me, which let me tell you, was the best decision ever. The weekend was really fun and relaxing, and I actually came back feeling recharged.
I was a little unsure about what to pack for Napa in the fall, especially since my boss told us to pack for "hot, cold, sun, and rain." The temperature fluctuated between the low fifties at night to the mid seventies during the day, so I went with the big cardigan or flannel around the waist approach every day. It actually worked really well since I was able to move from hot to cold throughout the day. For dinners I pulled out my favorite lace-up heels and felt perfectly appropriate everywhere we went.
These pictures were taken at Bennett Lane up in Caslistoga, which for some reason I kept calling Castilooga the whole trip haha. I never would have expected to join a wine club (doesn't it sound like something for real grown-ups?!), but we loved everything we tasted so we had to sign up. Don't worry though, we didn't go too crazy. We're really just getting one bottle of wine per month - they called it their date night package ;) I can't complain about having one nice bottle of wine with the hubs every month!
I'm not going to bore you with a huge list of all of the places we ate and stayed and went, but I do have two musts for you if you're planning a trip:
- You must sign up for a Platypus Tour if you've never been to Napa before. We were a little unsure of how to plan an itinerary and get around, and the tour was great - they picked us up from our hotel, drove us to small, family-owned wineries all over Napa Valley, and packed up our wine and dropped it at the hotel for us at the end of the day. Our group was really fun plus our guide was hilarious, so it really felt like we were touring the countryside with a bunch of friends. I would definitely definitely recommend signing up!
- You must stop by the Carneros Inn. We stayed there for two nights and it was amazing and beautiful and maybe my favorite place in the world. Instead of rooms, you rent the cutest little cabins that each have a private deck, fireplaces, and my personal favorite, outdoor showers. The pool was also freaking amazing, with a seriously stunning view of the countryside. It was pretty pricy though (we chose it out of desperation because just about every hotel was sold out for the weekend!) so if it's not in your budget, be sure to at least stop by for breakfast or lunch at the Boon Fly Cafe - you have to try the donuts!! Carneros is at the southern end of Napa, so it's a great place to stop during your drive into town.
So now we're back with no more trips planned in the near future. I'm thinking we should try to do something for my birthday though - I'm turning 30 in February, so it's go big or go home right?! Have you gone on any fun trips lately? Where should I go??

This Weekend...
The view from the pool at our hotel - squeeee!!
Oh hey there! We flew back from Napa late last night, and it was freaking amazing. Like seriously, talk about a bucket list place to move. It has definitely knocked a bunch of places I'd love to live off the list, well, you know, besides the coast of Spain or Italy ;)
Since I'm exhausted and trying to play a bit of catch-up, I'll leave it at that for today. But know that I'll be back later this week to share just why we loved Napa so much!
I hope you had a good one!

More Stripes, More Blazers
Sweater (similar) - J. Crew Factory / Blazer (similar Factory version) - J. Crew / Jeans (similar) and Loafers (similar) - Madewell / Bag - Sole Society / Necklace (similar) - BaubleBar
I almost managed to forget that this blazer existed. Almost. I saw a couple of posts on Pinterest where girls were layering navy blazers over navy sweaters and loved the look so I had to pull the old blazer out again. I've been looking for the perfect navy sweater ever since, but I'm super picky with sweaters (sleeves too short! too thin! too itchy!) so I haven't found "the one" yet. Until it comes into my life I'll have to settle for this rugby striped option.
Settle is a weird thing to say though, because I freaking love this sweater. I love the stripes, I love that it's thick and cozy but not too hot, and I love that it has the little faux-layered chambray underneath. With the faux layer I can add a blazer and still be comfortable. I never understand how girls can actually layer more than two items, it makes me feel bulky and I always end up overheating. Of course, I overheat a lot. I'm that weirdo who hops on the subway and immediately rips off all of my outerwear, and then has to awkwardly hold it all in a large bundle while simultaneously trying not to fall down. Don't judge me.

A Little More Flannel
Shirt - J. Crew Factory / Cardigan - LOFT / Jeans (similar) - Madewell / Boots - TOMS / Bag - Sole Society / Necklace - Stella & Dot
When I ordered this cardigan it was really to pad out an order for the free shipping - I wasn't really sure how much use I'd get out of something white. Well, it turns out I want to wear it with everything! I especially love it paired with my red plaid shirts, the white offsets the bright color nicely. The sweater is also great because it covers my bum so it's perfect with leggings, it has long enough sleeves for my extra long arms, and it's oversized and cozy without looking sloppy. Win win win.
I'm leaving for Napa this afternoon, and you had better bet this sweater made it into my suitcase! The first few days are for work, but after that it's all wine, all the time ;) Jeff and I have never been before, so if you have any must-visit places let me know!
